SERVICE AGREEMENT

To protect you and to make sure you are able to get the most out of our services at Computer Medic, we ask that you look over our Service Agreement to know more of what we will guarantee.  This agreement is attached to your Always Free Estimate form when you drop off your PC for service in our shop.  You may also download a copy of this agreement and our estimate form here.  

 

1.) DISCLAIMER

- COMPUTER MEDIC will only perform and provide computer services, repairs, and upgrades as requested. COMPUTER MEDIC will conduct honest, reasonable, and considerate services. The goal is to provide the highest quality of service and support, but specific results cannot be guaranteed.

- Computer service/repairs are provided as a service. There may be circumstances under which your computer cannot be repaired. It will have to be rebuilt or upgraded (Examples: age of PC, repair/replacement parts obsolete, OS or software obsolete, etc…)

- The length of time required to service/repair your computer cannot be predicted. (See para 2.1 below)

- You understand that in the process of working on your computer equipment, there is a potential for data loss. You agree that you have made the necessary backups, or requested us to backup the data in the format of your choice, so that in the event of such loss, the data can be restored. COMPUTER MEDIC will not be responsible for data loss or responsible for data that is already damaged prior to service. (See para 4.4 below)

- You authorize the technician(s) providing the service or repair to install antivirus and any other necessary software on your computer to perform required services. Software beyond Avast Antivirus or Malwarebytes Antimalware will be deleted/uninstalled upon completion of service unless another agreement has been made.

 

2.) BILLING TERMS

- Computer services/repairs are billed as stated on the service order provided. Charges will be calculated at $65 per hour. In the event that service charges will be greater than $200 or have a flat fee (example: virus removal, customer computer or server build, etc…), the technician will discuss options with you before starting the work.

- An ALWAYS FREE ESTIMATE of cost for work will be provided before performing computer services/repairs. The price quoted on the estimate is not guaranteed.

- In the event that the price or time quoted on the ALWAYS FREE ESTIMATE is different from the actual cost or time needed for the work, every effort will be made to contact you and inform you of the situation and receive authorization to continue or stop at the estimate limit.

- If a technician finds additional problems not originally quoted on the ALWAYS FREE ESTIMATE, every effort will be made to contact you and inform you of the situation and receive authorization on how to continue the work.

- In case you cannot be reached, work will stop until contact is established. Once reached, your decision to continue or stop will be honored by COMPUTER MEDIC.

 

3.) PAYMENT TERMS

- Full payment is due upon completion of services, upgrades, or repairs prior to the return of your computer or other equipment.

- Computer parts, hardware, software, and/or other items ordered or special ordered must be paid in advance.

- COMPUTER MEDIC accepts cash and credit cards. At this time we do not accept check or money order. 

 

4.) LIABILITY

- Service(s) are provided in an effort to fix, upgrade, or otherwise repair the computer system(s) or other equipment for which you request such service(s).

- Your system or other equipment will not be intentionally harmed. The primary goal is to fix your computer, not damage it.

- In the case of accidental damage of data to your system or data loss caused by already existing problems in your system such as viruses, bad configured software, or hardware problems/failures – You agree to hold COMPUTER MEDIC and any person(s) authorized by COMPUTER MEDIC or involved in the work being done for you harmless from damages resulting in such problems.

- It is your responsibility to backup your data or authorize us to backup your data in the format of your choice. COMPUTER MEDIC will not be held responsible for data loss or loss of data prior to service. (See para 1.4 above)

 

5.) SERVICE

- Customer satisfaction is our top priority.

- All services will be conducted in a professional, reasonable, and timely manner. Also, taking into consideration the circumstances and nature of the technical problems.

- Free support will be provided for problems to be resolved from the service order, but not resolved.

 

6.) REPAIRS & SERVICE GUARANTEE

- All services and repairs are guaranteed for 14 days from the completion/acceptance date on the SERVICE AGREEMENT.

- If later found that the service or repair was incorrectly diagnosed by the technician, COMPUTER MEDIC will perform the repair/service free of labor charge; only new parts will be charged.

- Computers and other equipment not picked up after 30 days will become the property of COMPUTER MEDIC unless otherwise noted in the original request.

 

7.) ESTIMATES

- COMPUTER MEDIC is the first computer repair service in Anderson, SC to have the ALWAYS FREE ESTIMATE.

- The consultation to determine the estimate will consist of a short interview with You, an evaluation, and the final estimate.

- Customers are asked to not interrupt the technician until the evaluation and estimate are completed. Please save questions for the interview or until after you receive the ALWAYS FREE ESTIMATE.

- We cannot 100% guarantee the cost or time quoted on an estimate.
