We at Computer Medic understand that your computer, laptop, tablet, or other electronic devices are as much a part of who you are as the car you drive or your favorite sweater and want to help you protect your PC to the best of your abilities.  That said, there are a few things that will help us to better take care of your device while it is in our shop.

 

1.)  Write down any error messages that occur, or a list of events that happened prior to the problem.  Feel free to include any details you feel may be relevant as it will help us to more quickly identify the problem.

 

2.)  If you are having a current problem, please give us a call.  We might be able to help you with a simple solution over the phone, or we might even be able to do a remote assessment from our computer to yours or even come to your home or office to help.  

 

3.)  If we do ask you to bring your PC in, back up any files you may want to save or ask us to do it for you for a small extra fee.  Though we take every precaution we can to make sure that your data is not harmed, there are cases where it may become corrupt from a virus already on your system or it may be erased if you and the technician decide if reinstalling the operating system is the best or most cost-effective option.

 

4.)  Please read our Service Agreement before coming in, or you can read it at our shop.  The Service Agreement will also include a copy of our Always Free Estimate that will not only give an approximate total of our service to you, but how long it will take as well before your PC or other device is back at your home.  

 

5.)  Please make arrangements to be able to pay for and pick up your PC or other device within 30 days of when the repair is complete.  We will call you immediately after we finish your repair so that you can pick it up the same day and bring it back home.  If we cannot contact you, we will continue to try within reason for 30 days until your device is back in your hands.  Items left at Computer Medic for more than 30 days will become property of our store.
